Elaine Taylor-Klaus is a professional coach, author, and proud mother in an ADHD family. She co-founded Impact Parents, a virtual community providing coaching, training, and support for parents with complex kids. Elaine found inspiration in co-founding the company when she discovered she has ADHD at the age of 40. Elaine is also the author of The Essential Guide to Raising Complex Kids with ADHD, Anxiety, and More, a teaching and coaching guide for parents who have complex children.
Elaine joins me today to share her experience as a child who grew up with undiagnosed ADHD. She describes the anxiety she felt as a child coupled with the pressure of high expectations. She discusses how she began to understand and forgive her younger self for her shortcomings. She explains how Impact Parents got started and how they can help parents with complex kids. Elaine also shares their group’s unique approach towards children with ADHD and how she coaches children to ask for help.
"Our perspective is what defines whether we see ourselves as ‘broken’ or as ‘whole and capable’.” - Elaine Taylor-Klaus
