Diana is a speaker, performance coach, and the bestselling author of Performing as You. In the book, she talks about how she applies her 25 years of experience with the theater stage to the business stage. She invites leaders worldwide into their personal rehearsal rooms to ignite their creative fire and step into their fullest leadership presence for greater influence, engagement, and fulfillment in all of the roles they play. Diana’s podcast interviews and articles have appeared on LinkedIn and in New Business, Forbes, Business Life, the BBC World Business Journal, and other media channels. She lives in London and is the director of theater for business.
Today Diana joins me to talk about her story. She tells me about her background in dance and the role her father played in her journey of becoming the woman she is today. She discusses the many strong parallels between theater and business, particularly leadership. She talks about the importance of living in and giving your all to, the present moment. She says that everyone is creative and notes how important it is to recognize and unleash your particular creativity. She contrasts collaboration and competition, and she emphasizes that it’s never too late for a new beginning.
“When you are a theater director, you are
engaged in the constant act of problem-solving.”
“The unexpected and the unknown...is the place of creativity.”
“Once you take that first step into the unknown, something extraordinary will meet you. Something that you never imagined.”
